Welcome
Teacher wellbeing is a vital component of our education system. Increasingly, there is concern about the state of our teaching profession, with words like 'stress' and 'burnout' part of many discussions. At the same time, we are increasingly aware of the value of positive wellbeing.
An exciting research project is underway which aims to gain an understanding of the wellbeing of New Zealand primary and secondary teachers and identify both the factors teachers perceive support their wellbeing and those which detract from their wellbeing.
The information revealed by this study will be shared with teachers, principals and the wider education community. Ultimately, it is hoped that the findings of this research will support an increasingly thriving teaching profession with healthy wellbeing.
